As an independent dietitian you need to spend time in marketing your name. Also, you need to work hard in setting up your practice and preparing information materials for clients. However, if you choose to work with a healthcare organization, you can focus only at what you are best at, no need to go out and attain clients.

It is important to first get your certification. Most dietitians and nutritionists have a diploma in nutrition and diet planning. In addition to a certification, you need to possess skills such as, listening skills, organizational skills, problem-solving skills and good communication skills.
